Women’s Health Associates is committed to providing exceptional obstetric care for you and your baby. We provide comprehensive obstetrical services which include on-site ultrasound, access to Maternal Fetal Medicine, and physicians who are trained to take care of low risk and high risk pregnancies. We have a physician at Boone Hospital on call every day ready to deliver your baby. At Women’s Health Associates, our pregnancy doctors are by your side every step of the way, from the first trimester through delivery and beyond.
What is Obstetrics?
Obstetrics and Gynecology are twin fields of study, which is why a practitioner of these fields is referred to as an OB/GYN. Obstetrics is concerned with the care of patients who are pregnant and deals with any complications that may occur through the course of the three trimesters. Gynecology is care for the reproductive system of females who are not pregnant. Gynecologists and Obstetricians alike work to ensure that the well-being of a female (and if applicable, her child) are monitored and cared for. Depending on your age and pregnancy status, regular appointments with your OB doctor are critical to maintaining your feminine health.
