Dr. Karen Thies is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Thies grew up in rural Missouri. She obtained a Ph.D. in structural engineering and designed stadiums and arenas prior to medical school. After her family was complete, she attended the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and completed her residency at the University of Missouri School of Medicine.
She joined Women's Health Associates after residency and is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Missouri State Medical Association, and Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Thies has been married for over 23 years and is further enriched with a son and daughter. She embraces family activities involving skiing, childrens activities and any travel that doesn't require flying. She enjoys jogging with two dogs, tennis, basketball, water colors/oils, and do-it-yourself landscaping and remodeling projects.
Dr. Thies sees patients in her office in Suite 350 on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and on Friday Mornings. She is dedicated to surgery on Tuesday.
